Day of Love

It was fun working at a school on Valentine's Day this year. There was probably too much candy going around for everyone to function normally. I enjoyed the craft projects and cards, and the kiddos wearing an extra measure of pink and red.

After school, I was planning on a low-key evening. I wrote on all the mirrors in the house with washable crayons before Sean got home. I left him a poem on one of the mirrors, and it took him a while to find it.

When Sean got home, he had a tin of chocolates behind his back. That was a nice surprise. I wasn't expecting on getting anything since we hadn't talked about it at all. With all of the sugar that was served at school, I wasn't very eager to stuff my face with chocolate. I was curious what kind of goodness was inside, so I took a peek.

Can I just say that I was speechless for a bit? Yeah. I wasn't quite sure how to react. Translation of all of the pictures: we are flying to the east coast!!! We will visit Washington D.C. and New York City. In said places, we are going to visit Brad and Megan Poulton, and Maggie Franz! Those are the plans so far. Are we excited?? YES!!!
Sean said since it was just us, we needed to take advantage of this time. Plus, this is something I've been wanting to do for a super long time!! Those are some of the top patriotic places I can think of and we are going there over the 4th of July!!! Yes. I. Am. We. Are. Excited.

Okay, back to Valentine's Day. I made some chicken corn chowder for dinner. Sean may have gone back 3 times to the pot! (It was nice getting that response since it was the first time I had made it.) We watched a movie from the library: The Book of Kells

For dessert, I made something I thought he would like lots. Dessert Nachos. They were a surprise to him, and greatly enjoyed.

All in all, it was a nice day.

February Walk

Sunday was a very sunny day. After church, we really wanted to be outside. We decided to take advantage of the sun and warmer temperatures and go for a walk... in Arches!
So we did.

Can you find Sean?

It was relaxing, and very nice to enjoy the outdoors. We plan on many other such excursions this year.

January 2012

We took it kind of easy in January. It took a bit to get back into the swing of things. After the camera battery was charged, and I remembered to put the memory card back in (and yet it still took pictures...), this is how January went:

We took a visit to Ephriam and Manti. Travis and Jessica gave us a place to sleep, and we enjoyed the temple with donuts afterward.

We have done some work around the place as well. Mostly in the bedroom.

Once we finish the texture of the walls, we will finally paint. I promise!!

We also went on a date to Grand Junction. Sean took the scenic route, we ate at Johnny Carino's, and enjoyed a the Grand Junction Symphony. At first, we were doubtful of the quality of the performance because of the high school venue, but it was excellent!
