Bathroom = Privacy Needed

Remember how cheerful and clean our bathroom is now that it is painted, and how lovely the window is without huge blinds hiding it?

Well, one concern of mine was the amount of privacy the bathroom had with the blinds off...especially at night. The window is higher up, but that doesn't give any promises of privacy from the outside world.

While I was searching online for living room curtains, I came across some window film. Could be a good solution since the window opens at the top to make a vent. We thought it was worth a try:

One window.

Two windows.

Three windows!

And there you have it. The window film works!!

We don't get a nice view of the canyons anymore, but that is what the other windows are for. So now, we have peace of mind. Our neighbors (though far away and hardly around) probably do too.

Long Weekend in Moab

We enjoyed our long weekend. New food was tried, a few projects accomplished, an unscheduled shopping trip to GJ happened, and some relaxing.

Three of my favorite/random shots from the weekend:

They still have pay phones off Main Street!

A cheerful reminder that it is the end of summer.

Horses to the side of one of the trails.

Oh, and this is our yard. We're still deciding what to do with it.... any thoughts??

The one room building at the back of our lot.

The Big Window: What to Do??

In the process of painting, we had to take down the blinds. We discovered that we love the windows, and they get hidden by the blinds that we don't like.... much at all.

Our landlord is eventually wanting to replace the window for one that is more temperature efficient, so we wanted something that could be used in the future.

Before: Utilitarian privacy. No one noticed the window except for the massive amount of light coming from it.

Next: No privacy. A nicely framed window giving zero protection from the non-existent prying neighbors. Still uncomfortable.

End Result: Simple and comfortable privacy. The drapes are easy to move around and still let in light while giving all the privacy we want.

Don't you love it when flowers appear on the piano??

Done.
